Discovery Bay is one of Hong Kong's most expat-dense residential communities, and almost every family here is navigating the same academic profile: the ESF pathway through Discovery College on-site (IB MYP into DP) or a daily ferry to ESF and British curriculum schools across Central, Kowloon and the South Side. Many DB families also feed into Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) for British/IGCSE/A-Level, Renaissance College in Ma On Shan, Yew Chung International School (YCIS) in Kowloon Tong, or Hong Kong International School (HKIS) in Tai Tam for the AP route. The reality on the ground is that the 25-minute Central ferry plus a school day leaves little time for catch-up — and the ESF/British academic pace through MYP 4–5 and Year 10–11 is unforgiving.
