Tell us about your child and we'll match a specialist IB Business Management tutor within 24 hours.
Degree-level subject specialists, many PGCE-trained, who teach to the UK exam standard.
Tutors who know the mark schemes and coach the exact phrasing that earns every mark.
Every tutor is interviewed, reference-checked, and background-verified before their first lesson.
You are paired with a specialist in your exact board and tier — never a generalist.
The current IB Business Management guide (first assessment 2024) is built around five units and four concepts — creativity, change, ethics, and sustainability. Our tutors teach the theory alongside the exam technique that turns knowledge into Grade 6–7 answers.
Step 1
We start with recent marks, confidence blockers, and the exact exam board so sessions feel personal from lesson one.
Step 2
Tutors connect concepts to examiner language, worked examples, and the habits that turn knowledge into marks.
Step 3
Parents see what changed after each session: topics covered, next steps, and the grade trajectory we are building toward.
Business functions, entrepreneurship, types of organisation, business objectives, stakeholders, and growth. Students often lose marks by treating stakeholder analysis as a list rather than a weighed evaluation.
Organisational structure, leadership and management, motivation theories (Taylor, Maslow, Herzberg), organisational culture, and industrial relations. HL extends to communication and change management.
Sources of finance, costs and revenues, break-even analysis, final accounts, ratio analysis, investment appraisal, and cash flow. The most quantitatively demanding unit and a frequent source of Paper 2 errors.
The marketing mix (7Ps), market research, segmentation, the product life cycle, branding, and international and digital marketing. HL adds sales forecasting and e-commerce in depth.
Production methods, quality management, location, supply chain, break-even in operations, and research and development. HL covers crisis management, contingency planning, and production planning.
STEEPLE, SWOT, Ansoff, the Boston matrix, decision trees, force field analysis, and the business plan — applied through the lenses of creativity, change, ethics, and sustainability that frame every exam question.
The IA is worth 25% (HL) or 30% (SL). HL is a 1,800-word research project on a real business issue; SL is a 1,500-word written commentary. We support research question design, use of tools, analysis, and the evaluation and conclusion.

Paper 1 rewards students who apply theory precisely to the pre-released organisation, not those who recite definitions. We teach students to annotate the case study, map each stakeholder and tool to specific evidence, and structure answers that move from analysis to a justified judgement.
Finance and operations questions — break-even, investment appraisal, ratio analysis, decision trees — trip up students who memorise formulas without understanding the interpretation. We drill each calculation and, crucially, the 'so what' evaluation the mark scheme demands after the numbers.
The highest marks require balanced evaluation, use of relevant business tools, and a substantiated conclusion. Students often stop at analysis. We teach the CUEGIS-aware structure and the evaluative language that examiners look for to award Level 3 and above.

Both levels have two exam papers and an Internal Assessment. Paper 1 is based on a pre-released case study issued before the exam; Paper 2 tests quantitative and structured analytical skills. HL adds an extended response section and a longer 1,800-word IA (25% of the grade), while the SL IA is a 1,500-word written commentary (30%).
The pre-seen material is released before Paper 1, so preparation is everything. We teach students to research the organisation and its industry, map the five units and key business tools onto the case, and anticipate likely question angles — so nothing in the exam feels unfamiliar.
Yes. Finance and operations content — break-even, investment appraisal, ratio analysis, and decision trees — is where many students lose Paper 2 marks. We drill each calculation and, just as importantly, the interpretation and evaluation the mark scheme rewards after the working.
Absolutely. We support the whole process within IB academic-honesty rules: choosing a real business issue, framing a sharp research question, selecting appropriate tools, analysing the evidence, and writing an evaluative conclusion. We coach and review — the work remains entirely the student's own.
Starting in Year 1 (Grade 11) builds strong foundations across the five units and gives time to plan the IA properly. That said, students who begin in the final semester still make significant gains — focused case study and exam-technique practice moves grades quickly.
