Why Salalah students
A-Level Accounting in Salalah is a small, high-stakes cohort. SIS runs Cambridge International A-Level on the 9709 / 9702 / 9701 / 9700 / 9608 / 9609 / 9706 / 9708 spec, SESS sits Cambridge for its sixth-form leavers, and a handful of Indian School Salalah students pivot to Cambridge IGCSE then A-Level for UK university applications. Most A-Level Accounting candidates from Salalah are targeting Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Muscat, Dhofar University (DU) in Salalah itself, or UK Russell Group entry — three very different question styles. The geographic isolation from Muscat (~1,000km) means a Salalah student rarely has access to a same-board examiner physically nearby, and Khareef season disrupts the critical June–September window when most consolidation should happen. Our online A-Level Accounting tutors are Cambridge examiners or top-board specialists, matched to SIS and SESS scheme of work, and scheduled around Khareef Festival travel, mock weeks and UCAS deadlines.
Exam boards we cover
The dominant A-Level route at Salalah International School and Salalah English Speaking School sixth forms. Linear AS + A2 structure with strong international university recognition.
Used by some Salalah British curriculum schools. Modular structure means students can resit individual units — useful for Salalah students balancing UCAS and US applications.
Smaller uptake, but offered by some schools serving Salalah families repatriating to the UK.
Syllabus coverage
Our A-Level Accounting tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Salalah students most consistently lose marks.
Double entry, trial balance and ledger accounts.
Sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts.
Depreciation, provisions and accruals/prepayments.
IAS 7 indirect method preparation.
Profitability, liquidity, efficiency and gearing ratios.
Marginal, absorption costing, budgeting and variance analysis.
Payback, ARR, NPV and IRR.
CIE 9706 mark-scheme drilling and presentation marks.
We work with students at leading A-Level institutions across Salalah.
What we fix
How we fix it:Khareef Festival and the monsoon turn Salalah into a regional tourist hub and pull families away on travel. We front-load Accounting content before Khareef and run lighter consolidation sessions during it, on Oman time.
How we fix it:Salalah International School and Salalah English Speaking School cluster mocks tightly in the spring. We run a 6–8 week mock-prep block on real past papers and examiner reports for Accounting.
How we fix it:The in-person specialist pool for Accounting in Dhofar is small. Online unlocks the same Muscat, UK and US examiner-grade tutors that Muscat and Dubai families use.
How we fix it:Driving or flying a Salalah student to a Muscat Accounting specialist weekly is not realistic. Our online 1-to-1 model deletes the distance and locks in regular weekly contact.
How we fix it:Salalah students split across Sultan Qaboos University, Dhofar University and UK entry. We map Accounting tutoring to the actual pathway — SQU/DU entrance prep or UCAS personal statement and admissions tests.
Why ComboTutors
Salalah International School and Salalah English Speaking School both run Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level. Our Accounting tutors deliver against the exact 0580 / 9709-style spec, school internal assessments and SIS / SESS mock weeks — not a generic syllabus.
Dhofar's in-person specialist pool is thin. Online 1-to-1 puts a Cambridge examiner or UK Russell Group Accounting tutor on screen in Salalah — same standard as Muscat or Dubai families, with no 1,000km commute.
We schedule Accounting sessions around Khareef season (Jun–Sep), Khareef Festival travel, Ramadan, Eid, Renaissance Day and 18 November National Day — and tailor prep toward Sultan Qaboos University, Dhofar University or UK Russell Group entry.

A-Level Accounting in Salalah
SIS sits Cambridge for A-Level Accounting — Cambridge IGCSE for the lower school and Cambridge International A-Level for sixth form. Our SIS-matched Accounting tutors work directly to that Cambridge spec, the school's scheme of work and SIS internal mocks.
Yes. Indian School Salalah runs CBSE as the main pathway plus a Cambridge IGCSE stream for students targeting UK / international entry. We tutor both — A-Level Accounting on Cambridge spec, and parallel CBSE support where families need it.
Khareef (Jun–Sep) brings monsoon, the Khareef Festival and heavy family travel through Salalah. We front-load Accounting content before Khareef begins, then run lighter consolidation and past-paper review during it on Oman time, picking pace back up for the autumn term.
Yes. Many Salalah students target Dhofar University locally or Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat. We map A-Level Accounting tutoring to those entry requirements alongside any UK / US plans — same tutor, joined-up plan.
All ComboTutors lessons for Salalah families are online 1-to-1, on Oman time. With ~1,000km between Salalah and Muscat and a small in-person specialist pool in Dhofar, online is the only realistic way to reach examiner-grade Accounting tutors.
A-Level Accounting tutoring starts from OMR 18/hour. First trial lesson is free, no minimum-term contract, and scheduling adapts to Khareef, Ramadan, Eid, Renaissance Day and 18 November National Day.
