Why Muscat students
Muscat A-Level Computer Science students compete for places at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the German University of Technology Oman (GUtech) and UK Russell Group universities — and the path runs through three schools above all others. The Sultan's School (Madinat Al Ilam) and British School Muscat (BSM, Al Hail North) both sit Cambridge International A-Level Computer Science — codes 9709 / 9702 / 9701 / 9700 / 9608 / 9609 / 9706 / 9708 depending on subject — with Oman International School in Al Khuwair adding a smaller cohort. The MoE Oman policy framework and the Diwan of Royal Court oversight of international schools mean predicted grades are tightly held, and a UCAS application from Muscat now sits alongside SQU's College of Medicine and Engineering competition. Our Muscat A-Level Computer Science tutors are examiners or top-university specialists, matched by board, paper tier and target grade — and lessons fit around the Oman Ramadan ~3-hour timetable, Eid Al-Fitr/Adha, Renaissance Day on 23 July and Oman National Day on 18 November.
Exam boards we cover
The dominant A-Level route at The Sultan's School and British School Muscat (BSM), feeding into Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the German University of Technology Oman (GUtech) and UK Russell Group destinations under Oman Vision 2040. Linear AS + A2 structure with strong international university recognition.
Used by some Muscat British curriculum schools. Modular structure means students can resit individual units — useful for Muscat students balancing UCAS and US applications.
Smaller uptake, but offered by some schools serving Muscat families repatriating to the UK.
Syllabus coverage
Our A-Level Computer Science tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Muscat students most consistently lose marks.
Arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees and hash tables.
Big-O, sorting, searching and graph algorithms.
Procedural, object-oriented and functional programming.
CPU, assembly, addressing modes and pipelining.
Scheduling, memory management, TCP/IP and security.
Normalisation, joins, transactions and ACID.
Finite state machines, regular expressions and Turing machines.
Specification, design, testing and evaluation writeups.
We work with students at leading A-Level institutions across Muscat.
What we fix
How we fix it:Muscat schools — The Sultan's School, BSM and ABA included — shift to shortened ~3-hour days through Ramadan, then close fully for Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. We back-plan Computer Science sessions before Ramadan, run lighter review sessions in Oman time during the shortened weeks, and resume full intensity straight after Eid.
How we fix it:Mocks cluster in January–February at The Sultan's School (Madinat Al Ilam) and British School Muscat (Al Hail North). We run a 6–8 week Computer Science mock-prep block on real Cambridge past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports — with weekly timed-paper turnaround feedback.
How we fix it:American British Academy's AP Computer Science sitting in early May overlaps Ramadan in most years. Our AP-trained tutors drill the CollegeBoard FRQ format, run full timed mocks in Oman time, and pace revision around shortened Ramadan school days and Eid.
How we fix it:Oman Vision 2040 has widened the pathway question — Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), German University of Technology Oman (GUtech), UK Russell Group or US. Our Muscat Computer Science tutors structure UMS-level work for UCAS-grade predictions plus the AP/IB scores SQU and GUtech competitive faculties expect.
How we fix it:Muscat schools close for Renaissance Day on 23 July and Oman National Day on 18 November, both of which fall inside critical revision windows. We pre-schedule Computer Science catch-up blocks either side so momentum into mocks and the May/June series isn't lost.
Why ComboTutors
The Sultan's School Computer Science students get a Cambridge IGCSE / A-Level / IB DP specialist who knows the Madinat Al Ilam scheme of work. BSM students get a Cambridge + IB DP examiner-level tutor matched to the Al Hail North programme. ABA students get an AP CollegeBoard-trained tutor for the Al Khuwair FRQ style.
Every Computer Science plan we write is tied to a destination: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) College of Medicine or Engineering, German University of Technology Oman (GUtech), UK Russell Group via UCAS, or US universities via AP scores. Predicted-grade and personal-statement-grade work is built in from the start.
We schedule Computer Science lessons in Oman time around the Ramadan ~3-hour timetable, Eid Al-Fitr/Adha, Renaissance Day on 23 July and Oman National Day on 18 November — and we work to the MoE Oman / Diwan of Royal Court term dates that govern Muscat's international schools.

A-Level Computer Science in Muscat
The Sultan's School in Madinat Al Ilam — Oman's premier school, established by royal decree by HM Sultan Qaboos in 1977 — sits Cambridge International for A-Level Computer Science alongside its IB Diploma programme. Our Muscat tutors are matched to the exact Cambridge specification code, mark scheme and the school's internal scheme of work.
Yes — ABA in Al Khuwair is the AP CollegeBoard school in Muscat and we match ABA families to AP Computer Science specialists who drill the FRQ format on real CollegeBoard past papers, with timed mocks pacing around the early-May AP exam window and Ramadan/Eid in Oman.
SQU's competitive faculties — College of Medicine, College of Engineering, College of Science — read A-Level Computer Science grades closely, especially for Omani students under the Vision 2040 scholarship routes. We structure target-grade work, run mock interviews, and align UMS/HL/AP scores to what SQU and GUtech expect, alongside any UK UCAS or US application running in parallel.
Yes. Our Muscat Computer Science tutors run lighter review sessions during the Ramadan ~3-hour school timetable, pause for Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, and pre-block catch-up sessions either side of Renaissance Day (23 July) and Oman National Day (18 November) so revision momentum carries into mocks and the May/June series.
Yes — British School Muscat (Al Hail North), Al Sahwa Schools in Qurum, Oman International School in Al Khuwair, Indian School Muscat in Wadi Kabir and PDO School at Mina Al Fahal are all regular schools for our Muscat A-Level Computer Science cohort. Each is matched to a tutor aligned to the school's board (Cambridge, Edexcel, IB DP, AP or CBSE) and scheme of work.
