No — it is an optional extra qualification taken alongside standard IGCSE Maths. However, it is very strongly recommended for students planning to take A-Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics, as it introduces calculus and harder algebra in a manageable context.
Cambridge Additional Maths (0606) is only available at Extended level. Grades range from A* to E — there is no Core tier and no grades F or G. Students who struggle should consider whether standard IGCSE Extended is a better fit.
Yes — differentiation and integration are major components of the syllabus. This is one of the key reasons to take Additional Maths: students arrive at A-Level already familiar with the core calculus techniques.
